Compass College

The purpose of Compass College is to make biblical and leadership training available anywhere in the world, enabling Christian leaders to develop their character, discover their calling, increase their capacity, and serve their church. The training is designed to raise the quality of service coming from every level of leadership—not just those entering full-time ministry. The program is interactive, flexible, and affordable so that emerging leaders can discover their purpose and develop their gifts without interrupting other duties (i.e. family, work, local church ministry obligations). Compass College seeks to be part of the answer to the prayer that Jesus instructed his disciples to pray,

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” (Luke 10:2).

The mission of Compass College is to train Christian leaders through both study and service. Students learn Bible, theology, and leadership through online courses while serving as interns at Compass North Church under the guidance of spiritual leadership.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

OUR GOALS ARE SIMPLE

1. We help students develop their character. We do a great disservice to people when we teach them what they are supposed to do before we teach them what kind of person they are supposed to be.

2. We help students discover their calling. Each of us was designed on purpose for a purpose.

3. We help students increase their capacity. We value excellence, which we define as “doing our very best every time.”

4. We empower students to serve their church. We are not competitors with the local church; we are partners with the local church. We seek to train leaders to operate within the structure and culture of their respective local church.

WE ARE FLEXIBLE

Our online program is designed to fit well into even the most demanding lifestyle and schedule. It is built to be flexible, while at the same time, structured enough to keep students on track. In this way, students can balance their study schedules with other responsibilities as they integrate systematic learning into their daily lives. Compass College is designed so that our students gain practical training in the field of ministry service and leadership in their local church in conjunction with their academic studies.

WE ARE INTERACTIVE

Compass College courses are not merely self-guided correspondence classes. Well-respected and knowledgeable instructors, who are experts in their fields, guide students through the course materials. Students regularly collaborate and communicate with students and instructors while they serve and apply what they are learning to their local church or ministry settings. All units incorporate a variety of interactive elements, such as discussion boards, live webinars, video lectures, and a weekly live cohort held on Tuesday evenings.

PROGRAM & COURSES

Compass College currently offers a two-year program that, upon completion, leads to the Diploma in Christian Leadership. Each Core is designed to be user-friendly and practical, as well as academically sound. Utilizing the latest Internet technology coupled with time-proven educational delivery systems, Compass College cultivates the students’ understanding of Scripture, their ministry gifting, and personal life vision. By doing so, we assist them in laying firm foundations within their lives upon which they can build their Ministry and Leadership skills.

The program is broken up into two academic years.
